Robinhood Engineering Works Ltd.

Referring to yours Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/LG14.3.27, we returned to these people the one KLG. Sparking Plug, type 219 A, which you sent to me and which I noted from the label thereon had been in a "Condor 1V" engine for 20 hours during type test.

We are now in receipt of maker's report as follows:-

"From its appearance it certainly does not seem to have sufficient heat resistance for use in the "Condor 1V", though we are very pleased with the way in which the mica insulation has stood up.

"The burning of the centre point is hard to understand, as this point is made of a nickel manganese alloy known as "mangonic, which up to the present has proved very satisfactory and preferable to nickel.

"We are now having a few of these plugs made up with pure nickel points and shall be very grateful if you will test them under similar conditions so that we may get a comparison.

"On the 3rd inst. we sent you 30 No.356 plugs for test in the high compression "Condor" and we are very interested to know whether you have yet been able to obtain any results."

When the plugs with pure nickel points above referred to arrive, they will be handed to you.

In the meantime I shall be pleased to learn whether you are in a position to report on the 30 No.356 plugs which were sent to us on 3rd inst. and which I learn are in your possession.
