We propose bringing an EAC.11. car to WW. in order to demonstrate that the slow running is equal to the 40/50 HP.

The car we bring will be the one fitted with a Cabriolet body.

On this car we have also got the fabric type coupling at the gearbox and of the engine coupling. We have had to considerably reduce the diameter from the original LeC. scheme because of it fouling the gearbox arm. We thought however, it worth while to make a test with this type of joint. The effect of fitting the fabric joint very materially reduces the amount of noise which comes from the coupling when load changes its direction. No matter how evenly the engine will run, it is impossible to avoid the load on the coupling being reversed and the consequent noise.

We recommend that it is worth modifying the gearbox arm in order that a fabric coupling can be fitted.

Chunking in the drive is a frequent complaint on std. 40/50 HP. chassis, and in order to reduce it, the clearances are reduced to a minimum.

In connection with the EAC.11. we also strongly recommend that a sub-frame scheme should be got out for covered bodies. Experiments on the 20 HP. xxxxx car with the sub-frame show that there is a definite improvement when the body
