To BX/PD. from E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} c. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Wst. E.1/HP.3.12.34. WST re Lamps under Bonnet. Will you please put in hand designs for lamps under bonnet on SpectreCodename for Phantom III, Wraith, and the next Bentley. It is a little difficult to illuminate the SpectreCodename for Phantom III engine owing to its great width, but perhaps two lamps on the dash as wide apart and high up as possible, will be reasonably satisfactory, and this should certainly be O.K. for an in-line engine. It looks as if each lamp should have a switch designed into the base, and whether we use an ordinary single socket bulb, or a festoon lamp, can be decided after investigation.
