- 2 - BY.2/G.12.11.37. (d). cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Wd.{Mr Wood/Mr Whitehead} of the Order Office managed to get Firths in the mood to re-open supplies, and create the confidence that resulted in Firths backing us in our fight against the use of A.I.D. steels and test methods. (e). If we operate outside of Firths it will mean that to maintain the quality we shall have a considerable amount of scrap, and under present conditions difficulty in obtaining supplies. I am sending a copy of BY.1/G.18.11.37. to Messrs. Firths to ask them whether under such a scheme they could give us the maximum reduction in cost which has been suggested they can make under their proposal to work to physical properties as the vital factor, following this I propose to visit Firths and finally settle what is the best in the interests of both companies.
