X.4562 - POST-WAR R.{Sir Henry Royce} BOSCH COMBINED DYNAMO REGULATOR AND CUT-OUT.

Further bench tests have been made on this unit since its return from W.W. The control adjustment having been disturbed necessitated careful readjustment, this taking some little time to restore the operation as nearly as possible to what it was previously. We have not succeeded in getting it exactly as it was previously, but with care have been able to get a condition which we are confident will be quite satisfactory on a car. It is believed that no alteration to the adjustment is intended to be made by anyone but the makers.

The results in our previous report EPCl/T3.1.23 contained firstly the performance of the dynamo as a plain shunt wound machine. Secondly, the open circuit volt-speed characteristics of the dynamo and regulator. Thirdly, the regulated volt ranges of the volt-speed characteristics at various ampere loads; and fourthly, the performance of the dynamo operating on a fully charged battery, and lastly, the proportions of battery charge, external load, and dynamo delivery at three different speeds for increasing values of the external load. In addition some general remarks were made about the performance.

After having again set the machine as described in the first paragraph above, we have checked over these various performances with the following results :-
