Dear Mr. Adkins,

I have had a talk with Swenson.

Re his brake inefficiency after washing, we have developed a water excluder which fits on the front drums and carrier plate. It has proved itself to be thoroughly effective. The question is, whether it can easily be fitted away from the Works. I think you could probably manage it if you had the necessary parts, but have asked the Repair Dept. to let you know their experience and communicate with you. As a matter of fact, in Mr. Swenson's case I do not think he will be unduly alarmed if he does not get the modification carried out.

We are inclined to agree with you that Ethyl increases the rate of corrosion of exhaust systems.

I am asking Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} to reply to the last paragraph of your letter.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED.
