C O P Y. K/W - Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} K/KC/DPB/23.11.36. In reply to Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}7/KW.21.11.36, I have to admit that I have no direct charges for regrinding only, as all cases sent to Derby have been fitted with new pistons. A price therefore has been arrived at by taking the charge for regrinding and fitting new pistons, (Invoice W.5729, £7.13.0d. nett) and from this deducting the cost price of a set of pistons complete (£5.5.0d) leaving a balance of £2. 8. 0d. As the order for the work charged on invoice W.5729 asked only for regrinding, and to the best of our knowledge no other work was undertaken, we concluded that the balance available, namely, £2.8.0d. would represent the cost to us of regrinding. Is it possible that your Cost Department have given you the internal cost, as all jobs such as this are done to Bentleys order at a profit. K/KC. | ||
