Dear Sirs,

Shock Damper Valves - F. {Mr Friese} 85395.

As you are aware, your Inspection Dept: has had cause to return to us a fairly large number of the above owing to the outside diameter of the bellows falling outside the limits shown on your drawing.

As the production of bellows is in itself a tricky business, and as it is extremely difficult to maintain diameters to exact limits, we are writing to ask if you could conveniently increase the allowable limits on the outside diameter.

In the ordinary way, we, in common with other manufacturers, do not guarantee outside diameters within + 1/32", and in this particular application we do not believe that an increased tolerance would in any way affect the satisfactory working of the component in view of the very small increase or decrease in the effective area of the bellows arising from the increased tolerance on diameter which we suggest.

At the present moment we are selecting your bellows from our production batches, but this involves us in difficulty over deliveries if a batch should come through from which very few can be selected.

We shall be grateful if you will give this matter your consideration and let us know whether you could
