1033 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 28th May, 1938. T.L. Turner, Esq., The Zenith Carburetter Co.,Ltd., Honeypot Lane, Stanmore, MIDDLESEX. Dear Mr. Turner, Many thanks for your letter of May 23rd. with reference to the A.A. type carburetter. I think the only way to deal with this problem is for you to submit a number of costs for the carburetter, ranging from the condition in which it is brought from America completely assembled, through intermediate stages, up to a price where it is manufactured entirely in this country. I will then submit the matter to the Administration. I hope you will submit a suitably attractive proposition for at least 75% of the carburetter being manufactured in this country, because, as you know, the policy of this Company has always been to insist that their products were, as far as possible, the result of British labour. Yours sincerely, | ||
