Sg{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD}25/M/12328. 12th March, 1928. H.R. Buckland, Esq; Messrs Ed.{J. L. Edwards} Jaeger (London) Ltd., St.{Capt. P. R. Strong} Leonards Road, Willesden Junction, N.W.10. Dear Sir, We are in receipt of your letter of the 9th instant, reference HRB/DMW, enclosing copy of letter you have addressed to our Works at Derby. In using the term "a sample pair of instruments" we were quoting from your letter of the 8th February, and we were certainly under the impression that your letter meant a pair of Speedometers and not a Speedometer and Clock. We think our Works would like to have two instruments to test and not just depend on the results of one. We therefore confirm our conversation on the telephone this morning to this effect, and understand you agree and will put the matter right with Derby. We should also like to pay for these instruments and in asking Derby to send a covering order, we should be glad if you would let us know whether the price mentioned of 37/6d. will apply to the two instruments for testing purposes. Thanking you in anticipation for your reply on this point, Yours faithfully, for Rolls-Royce, Ltd., General Sales Manager. | ||
