from G.H. Whyman. Y7080 6.1.33. HESITATION ON P.II. CARBURETTERS. We have now completed a series of tests on chassis'. 19-EX, 58-GN, and a production chassis No. 24-MY, to overcome the hesitation spot on Phantom II. Semi-expanding carburetters, and have reached the stage where we consider that we have overcome the trouble. Our scheme necessitates the fitting of a jet with a smaller petrol/delivery hole, smaller taper on the Jet and the fitting of a venturi in the existing slow running jet body. We carried out these modifications on 19-EX and 58-GN with good results, and 24-MY, the production chassis, which was a very bad example of this trouble was absolutely cured. The modifications to present production carbs. are as follows :- Jet E.82878 with .031" dia. petrol delivery hole to replace Jet E.83685. Venturi Ex.9777 to be fitted into the bottom of the existing E.83682 slow running jet body, bringing the bottom end of the venturi flush with the bottom end of slow running jet body.
