Dear Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer},

I was very pleased to get your letter of the 11th. instant, in which you are optimistic about aluminium body construction.

We ourselves have got a surprising amount of information on what has been done in America and Germany in pressing light alloys for small quantities, and also on work done in Switzerland on extruded aluminium framework for various types of vehicles. I also have samples of suitable extruded section developed for motor car and other bodies. I would be very pleased to bring this lot up to Derby any time you like next week for you to look it over. Also, I would be very pleased if you could arrange for me to pay a visit to Park-Ward in company with Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} at an early date, not so much to try and persuade them to change their present plans, as to enable us to get an idea of the kind of construction they use in their present bodies.

I showed your letter to Mr.Devereux which pleased him very much, but he thinks that there will be no need for you or Park Ward to be called upon for financial assistance, as we are going to do a large amount of work here on varied forms of light alloy construction for vehicles, and
