Normally, if we move the wheel centre 3½" from the king pin the effort required to shunt the car becomes impossible. To confirm the effect of transverse rake, we are conducting tests on the two types of 20 HP. axle to see if we can detect the small difference we expect due to the different pivot inclination and the wheel centre being further from the king pin in the front wheel brake car.
