X. 3199 Mr. Peat - Australia. from Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Hsl/LGS. 8. 21. We should like you to let us know, how cars which are fitted only with Battery Ignition, perform in Australia. We would anticipate that originally there would be considerable resistance against cars with Battery ignition only, but owing to the great number of American cars which are now only fitting Battery Ignition, we should imagine that the resistance against a single battery ignition is very little. We should be very pleased if you will let us have all the information possible because there is a suggestion on a new car we are making, to use battery ignition only. In your reply, we should like you to give as many facts as possible. We should like to know what are the practical disadvantages with single battery ignition in Australia.
