COPY. THE WELLER STEERING GEAR CO., High Street, THAMES DITTON. Your Ref. F5/Av/JL10530. Our Ref. BW/DC. 27th May, 1930. Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Ltd., 14/15, Conduit Street, W.1 Dear Sirs, With reference to our recent letter in connection with the Weller Steering Gear we now have much pleasure in sending you a brief "write-up" concerning the design and production of this unique Gear. A study of this, together with the accompanying Assembly Blue Print will, we venture to think, demonstrate that the many claims made for this Gear are not overstated and that we have in fact a component of exceptional merit, extended tests over a long mileage and on many cars give ample confirmation of this fact. We feel confident that we can interest you on quality as well as on price. May we therefore submit a design with a view to supplying a sample Gear, and also a quotation to suit your requirements? We should be prepared to do this on receipt of the following necessary information which will, of course, be treated as strictly confidential. 1. Type of vehicle concerned. 2. Normal laden weight. 3. Length and diameter of existing Outer Steering Column. 4. Details of Steering Wheel Fixing. 5. Diameter of existing Fixed Control Box Tube. 6. Length and swing of Drop Arm. 7. Details of Steering Box Anchorage to Chassis. 8. Outline drawing of existing Gear. 9. Approximate quantity of Gears required per annum to form basis of quotation. Assuring you of our best attention at all times. Yours faithfully, p.p. THE WELLER STEERING GEAR CO. (Signed) S. B. WELLER. | ||
