X1114 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.15/KW. 7th February, 1936. Messrs. Clayton Dewandre, Ltd., Titanic Works, Lincoln. For the attention of Mr. Willet. Dear Sirs, We very much regret the delay which has occurred in the matter of the oil coolers and cover for same which you are going to test for us. The fact that the Gallay matrix was not accurate as regards dimensions has made some difficulties. However, we are to-day sending you a cooler of our present standard type, a Gallay block cooler, a cooler casing, and a casing cover with bolts, jointing washers, etc. The cooler casing is being sent to you in addition to the one which you already have, as the Gallay block has had to be fitted to this casing. When you have obtained the cooling data etc. for - (1) Our standard type of block (2) Your own block (wire wound) (3) The Gallay block (4) The Buick block in your possession, we should like you to pressure test Nos. (1), (2) & (3) of these coolers to 200 lbs/sq.in. with cold oil, and 150 lbs/sq.in. with oil at 130°C., if this is convenient with your test apparatus. | ||
