BENTLEY V CYLINDER BLOCKS & HEADS. In view of cylinder head cracking which has occurred on 8.B.V. during the 50,000 miles test, and the fact that this head is up to date in all respects, we wish to try an alternative material namely, Nickel Molybdenum. Will you please produce 3 cylinder heads in this material which otherwise are to EB.4071. To go with the above cylinder heads we should like 3 cylinder blocks in Nickel-Chrome-Molybdenum alloy. Three bores Nos. 4, 5 and 6, to have Phosphor Chrome short inserts, the other bores as the solid block. The above are urgent as it is proposed to fit one of these cylinder blocks and heads to the unit for the Continental (14.B.V.) for 15,000 miles test.
