To Roy.{Sir Henry Royce} from EFC. X4021 EFC2/T2.2.28. AERO MAGNETOS. X5835 X.3832 X4021 We received a note from Mr. Royce ref. R4/M21.1.28 in which he suggested that we should offer to send to Watfords our samples of Bosch and Scintilla mero magnetos, together with copies of our tests on their perfomance, this having for its object, to help our English makers "to give us something good quickly". At the time of receipt we had already sent both to Messrs. Norths and the B.T.H. Co. full reports of our inspection and test of these Bosch and Scintilla machines, which you obtained for us. Personally we feel that the right thing to do would be to get representatives of these two Companies to come and inspect these machines. We already have the Bosch and Splitdorf machines dismantled and laid out for observation and the same can be done with the Scintilla if we knew they were coming. Perhaps you would like to write to them and suggest this course. As a matter of fact I have had a telephone conversation with Mr. Parrott of the B.T.H. Co. since we sent along these reports, and he had asked if he could have these magnetos to see. My answer to him was that I thought it would be better if they could arrange to come over for the purpose. He said they would do that, and that is how the matter rests, we not having heard any further. EFC. | ||
