WRAITH STEERING GEAR PRELOADS.

We give below the preloads with which the Wraith steering gear should be assembled:-

(1) Roller Follower. 4 - 8 ozs at 3" rad.

(2) Rockershaft alone. ½ - 1½ lbs at end of pendulum lever.

(3) Cam alone. ½ - 1½ lbs at rim of steering wheel.

(4) Complete gear. 1 - 1½ lbs at rim of steering wheel in central position.

The above preloads have been applied to Experimental Wraith chassis with the reduced caster angle of ½ degree, including the 10,000 mile test car.
