Rear Autolock Dampers - Phantom III. We send herewith N.Sch.4745 which shows some small modifications to these dampers to reduce cost and facilitate handling as follows:- (1) The dowel bush at present provided at the top of the cover joint is to be deleted and the duty which the dowel performs is to be done by the autolock rod bush. (2) A tab washer is suggested to prevent the autolock rod bush working out of place instead of the present connecting rod bolt head. (3) The bottom stud for the bellows casing is to pass right through to the cast iron head to keep these pieces together after calibration of the valve. (4) A screwdriver slot is provided in the plug in the bottom oilway as this plug must be below the surface of the cylinder face to avoid damage to the face. (5) Lugs are provided on the cylinder head to facilitate removal. (6) The bolts which secure the damper to the frame are raised .025". E/HDY.{William Hardy} | ||
