To Hr from Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Copy to Cd. Hor. EH. By.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X. 2762 Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington}2/W1.8.19. <2762 RE. MAGNETO BRAKE ON STANDARD 40/50 HP. CHASSIS. With reference to E6/C17719, we think that there will be certain customers who, if we do not fit magneto brakes, will complain of drive and coupling noises which can only, as far as we know, be cured by the magneto brake. We quite agree that if we set out to test this point on an average chassis, that no value can be found in the brake. We think that the best policy to adopt would be to stop manufacture when we have a certain number completed, and to hold these in stock for supply to customers whom we cannot otherwise satisfy, but that no cars should be actually delivered with the brakes in the normal course. Will you please inform us if you agree to this procedure. Bn.{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} Bn{W.O. Bentley / Mr Barrington} | ||
