Messrs. Rolls-Royce, Limited,
D E R B Y.

19th January, 1939.

My dear Grylls,

Many thanks for your letter of the 13th inst., and with regard to the Duplex Double Purpose Bearing running under no load conditions, we have now run 500 hours at 4,000 r.p.m., lubrication being merely by oil bath, and there are absolutely no detrimental signs whatever from this condition of running.

If you wish the run to be continued for any longer period, or any other condition to be applied, I shall be glad to institute this on receipt of your instructions, and as mentioned before I hope to get an opportunity of seeing you in the near future at Derby.

Kindest regards,

Yours sincerely,

[Signature: F.O. Hickling]
