Bailey - Chief Engineer}~~ from ROY.{Sir Henry Royce} ~~S. to Rg{Mr Rowledge}~~ c. to HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ROY{Sir Henry Royce}3/MG27.6.29 You will recollect we placed orders with Messrs. Firth on March 25th for two 20 HP. and two 40/50 HP. Crankshafts in Nitralloy. Arrangements for production of such Crankshafts are proceeding slowly, and attached is copy of communication to hand from them this morning, to which I propose replying that we certainly do not wish them to deliver us such Cranks - in fact any materials they produce for us at any time - unless they are in the best possible condition for the purpose for which they are required.
