HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} X5310. DAL/M4.11.31. X5310 Copy to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} SYNCHRO MESH GEARBOX. Referring to the tests on the reverse we presume that all these tests for the bearings standing up are done with a casehardened shaft. It is not clear from your report whether the shaft is hardened or not. We have also assumed that all the trouble is with the forward bearing, though the rearmost is the most heavily loaded. Has there been any trouble with the rear bearing? Our assumption that it is the forward one is due to your mentioning drilling an extra hole. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
