Description of Parts. FERRANTI AMMETER.
(as second string to present standard Elliott ammeter)
Origin. Desirability of second British source of supply particularly one of the high all-round reputation represented by the name Ferranti.
Experimental Test Report. Road Test Report.
Ferranti ammeters have been on test with us since July 1928. Bench observations and tests have shewn them to contain high grade mechanism and to be uniformly accurate. Three instruments now being run on experimental cars are made to our standard finish and suited to the grouped instrument board.
Run-on 12-GEV 7,500 miles.
17-GIV 5,000 miles.
14-EX 4,000 miles.

Difference per Car. Negligible.

A Scrap and replace on all Chassis including Chassis already delivered to Customers.
B Scrap and replace on Chassis in Works.
C Scrap present stock and replace on all Chassis not yet handed to test.
D Use existing stock Alteration effective on future Chassis.
Cost of Old Part Elliott Ammeter £ 1-16-6
Cost of New Part Ferranti Ammeter £ 1-12-0
Difference per Car (Elliott & Ferranti) 4s 6d in favour of Ferranti Ammeter. The Ferranti Ammeter will not supersede the Elliott but will be an alternative source of supply.
