FABRIC COUPLING - P.2. CHASSIS.

Referring to the complaints which are still occurring and the fact that even with the improved riveting the lives of the couplings on P.2 chassis are much less than they used to be, we have got a new coupling of larger diameter and greater thickness, so far as the fabric is concerned.

We suggest that in future this coupling should be used for replacement work.

The design is RR.Sch.256.

We are detailing the scheme which follows the improved coupling which has been standardised for future chassis, but it demands a modification to the gearbox.

The scheme above was arranged to fit in to the existing dimensions.
