15,000 Miles Cars.

We are endeavouring to give a date for sending 21-G-IV to France. Unfortunately a specification has been agreed on for this car which necessitates quite a lot of work. Furthermore, unfortunately as regards detailing, we believe that the majority of this work is in C. & P. departments. The main points in question, for the majority of which we believe the designs or instructions have been issued, are as follows :-

(1) 20/25 rear axle with the hypoid gears.
(2) Isolated change speed lever.
(3) The R.R. Marles steering column. and controls:
(4) Noise insulation scheme.
(5) Water excluders on the front brakes.
(6) Improved crankcase breather to Lec.4438.
(7) Geared starter motor.

If you could let us have a date for the completion of these details we could decide whether we can afford to wait for everything or not. The three most important items in our opinion are the Rolls-Royce Marles steering, the isolated change speed lever, and the water excluders.

On the Bentley there are two rather important items, the designs for which have been completed. They are :-

(1) The brake linkage and servo modifications to prevent the servo coming against its stop and causing loss of brakes when hard driving.
