1263 1487 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/JBD.{John B. Dixon - Fuel Systems}5/MH.{M. Huckerby} 15th. January 1938. Messrs. The S.U. Company Ltd., Bordesley Green Road, Adderley Park, Birmingham. 8. For the attention of Mr.Skinner. Dear Sirs, We have enamelled the carburetter body which we are sending to you for your inspection. In this case the finish is not quite so dull as that on the coil housing we submitted, but we understand that they do not like to bake these die castings above 280°F.{Mr Friese} on account of distortion or melting. The process is an enamel known as 'ebony finish' and is sprayed on and baked up to a temperature of 340°F if possible. They state this finish is resistant to petrol. We will give you definite information with regard to enamelling the coil housings in a day or two. Yours faithfully, for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
