Dear Sir, RE ARMOURED CARS. We have discussed the question of difficulties experienced with the armoured cars with Mr. Royce, and he is definitely of the opinion that the best way to deal with all these difficulties is to fit a new back axle, which will gave a ratio of about 6 to 1. This would enable thevcars to do all that you require in the way of climbing, and in the way of negotiating loose sand, etc., and we feel sure would also overcome the difficulty of cooling and of the clutch slipping. What we would propose to do is to scheme a back axle which can be slipped under the existing cars without alteration. This would save a lot of modification in the gear box and other parts.
