Since the date of the latter of the above two reports, we have had running on experimental chassis three round base tall EAC. type coils in Redmanol cases, with entirely satisfactory results. (One of these is on the new EAC. chassis 8-EX). Further to this, our four new finer primary (smaller primary current) coils are also made up in cases of this material (20 HP. type in this instance), and these coils are being thoroughly experimented upon on 20 HP. chassis, so far with entirely satisfactory results. Further reports on the operation of these coils may be expected in due course. In connection with redmanol encased coils generally, however, the following remarks of my assistant may be noted :- "Redmanol powder is now purchased from America, manufactured by a reliable firm, and its quality now remains fairly consistent. Also the moulding plant on the works has been greatly improved and modernized. Before this, imperfect mouldings produced were due to a large extent to insufficient heat and pressure on the steel mould; the result being that the chemical change of the synthetic constituents did not | ||
