J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} S. CRANKSHAFT DAMPER
ADVANCE TEST ON A 20/25HP. ENGINE.

We have looked into the question of fitting a J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} S. drum type damper to the 20/25. for test purposes, and find it can be done easily on an engine with a spring drive of the type that is just being superseded.

This is shewn on Lec.2935. (blue print attached), and we are asking Derby to proceed subject to us not receiving instructions to the contrary.

On Lec.2936. the fan pulley has been removed and the damper bolted on in its place for a bench test.

A chassis test may also be desired, in which case the absence of the fan should not matter in the winter time, but if necessary both fan pulley and damper drum can be attached by using longer studs.

The cross steering tube and radiator both clear the drum.

The original of Lec.2935 is attached to BY's copy, of this memo.
