ENCLO. OUR REF. TPS/AML YOUR REF. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Std.18/MA. 7th August, 1936. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., Derby. honed Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/StD For the attention of Mr. Steadman. Dear Sirs, We beg to thank you for yours of the 4th August, with reference to your conversation with our Mr. Reigate, whose report on the matter we have now had. We also have to thank you for your drawing D.75213, showing us the arrangement of your present dual Water Thermometer and Oil Pressure Gauge. We have accordingly put forward a suggestion on a Sketch No. 456, which we enclose for your consideration, showing the overall dimensions which could be kept by a dual instrument using our components. We fear it is utterly impossible for us, with the system upon which our gauge works, to give 180° scale, which you have approximately on your two present instruments. We have shown what we can do in connection with this matter, but unfortunately the angular movement of the needle cannot be increased. (a) With regard to the Heat Indicator which was loaned you for trial, we have now received this back and have tested it. Under the conditions of our test rig | ||
