1305 Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM{Anthony F. Martindale}4/R.{Sir Henry Royce} 16th November, 1938. Messrs. Ferodo Limited, CHAPEL-en-le-FRITH. (For the attention of J.N. Longley, Esq.) Dear Sirs, Leaf Spring Interleaving. We are interested in springs with interleaves, and intend to standardise them in the near future. The interleaving is at present produced in America. We are wanting a slightly more durable interleaving than we now have, and we have the authority of the Managing Director of Toledo Woodhead Ltd., the Sheffield Spring Makers, to say that if we can get what we want from you he will buy the same stuff for all his springs, assuming that your price is competitive. The Writer would be much obliged if Mr. Longley would see him at Chapel at the earliest possible date to discuss the problem and to find out if you are interested in this market. Should you be interested, Mr. Woodhead would like to see you in a fortnight's time. We understand that Raybestos are quite interested. Yours faithfully, For ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
