R.R. 493 (40 H) (SL 42 12-7-23). J.H. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} ORIGINAL EXPERIMENTAL REPORT. COPIES TO: (R.C.J.) B.J. WOR.{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} By E.{Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} Da.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} PN.{Mr Northey} OY. (RG{Mr Rowledge}) Expl. No. 4627. REF. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}2/LG29.5.24. OBJECT OF TEST. To prove whether more clearance to sunwheel bushes overcame the risk of seizure. TESTER. J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} A.{Mr Adams} Gibson. CONDITIONS. Tests taken on test bench. SUMMARY OF TEST. On the previous tests with this gear, when we have used Castrol oil there has been no difficulty when changing gear. It would appear that using the light Shell oil, has, when hot, increased the leakage both from the engine bearings and the hydraulic change gear mechanism. Further tests will have to be carried out to ensure that the hydraulic mechanism will work under conditions of a worn engine and thin oil. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} | ||
