With reference to your ROY{Sir Henry Royce}15/NJ19.6.22, we have now received the Booklets from the Michelin and Dunlop Company, and although it would appear from the booklet issued by the Michelin Co. that they are more in agreement with the pressures recommended by us, i.e. 45 Lbs. to 60 Lbs. for 895 x 135 tyres, as shown in their booklet, the pressures recommended by the Dunlop Co. are still much in excess of those recommended by us, in fact the inflation table which they give in their new booklet is an exact duplicate of the inflation table in the last booklet issued by them, and whereas they recommend pressure of 65 Lbs. to 85 Lbs. for 895 x 135 tyres, we recommend 45 Lbs. to 60 Lbs. or possibly to 65 Lbs. We hope, therefore, that Sales Department will not be sending copies of the Dunlop Booklet to owners until they come into line with our recommendations. We are somewhat surprised to note the information circulated by the Dunlop Co. as we were given to understand ~~by the Experimental Dept.~~ (see your memo Royl/M18.5.22,) that the Dunlop Co. had agreed substantially to reduce their recommended tyre pressures, see their letter copy of which you sent to us under cover of your memo referred to above, dated May 16th.
