For the attention of C.G.Williams, Esq.

Dear Sirs,

Since our recent visit to your Research Station we were unexpectedly called over to see the operation of a u-speed rig which Ferodo Ltd. have just completed. This rig was built at our suggestion and is an improved version of our own apparatus, using a disc instead of a drum.

The preliminary results confirm what we found and we think that at last some improvement of linings may follow. Your confirmation is now not so immediately important but we feel that as you are investigating brake squeak that this is a line well worth pursuing.

We will, if you like, keep you in touch with developments.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
