X2628 Mr. Booth. C. Wd. {Mr Wood / Mr Whitehead} C. Hr. C. Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} ROADS SPRINGS FOR ABROAD. X2628 -------------------------- With reference to our present standard methods of springing chassis, in view of certain correspondence which has taken place between BJ. and R. {Sir Henry Royce} it has been definitely decided that for chassis which are intended for use abroad, we should increase the poundage of springs all round by 5%. Will you therefore kindly arrange to modify your instructions in accordance with the foregoing proposal of Mr. Royce's. I attach hereto(to Mr. Booth's note) copy of R4/M. 23.10.22. Mr. Booth will note that in round figures, taking the average weights of springs, the foregoing instruction of Mr. Royce's is tantamount to not subtracting the 50 lbs from the front springs and the 100 lbs from the rear springs which Mr. Royce asked us to make standard over and above the 75% maximum figure which we previously worked to.
