1110 EXPERIMENTAL DEPARTMENT. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/NRC.{N. R. Chandler}3/JH. 26th. April, 1939. Messrs. Borg & Beck Co.Ltd., Tachbrook Road, Leamington Spa. Dear Sirs, re 11 C.F. Long Clutch. We thank you for your TS/AMS/LP.{Mr Lappin} of March 27th. and for the two clutches with red springs which have come to hand. With regard to the specification we would explain that these clutches are being used on purely experimentaly engines, so that at the moment no useful purpose would be served by filling in the engine and chassis details to complete the specification. We also thank you for your TS/AMS/LP{Mr Lappin} of April 15th. re application of the 10" Long clutch, with drawing SK.31174/2, and for your remarks re the diameter of the release flange, actually both the flywheel and release bearing shown on our GB.2099 are now obsolete, and we are using the 10" Long clutch on several different experimental chassis. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
