Wind Tone Horns.

We understand that Sales are still anxious to have as standard on the 25 H.P. and the Bentley wind tone horns. Schemes for fitting these horns to both of these cars have been completed for some little while now.

We would be glad if you would arrange to fit up a 25 H.P. and a Bentley with these horns to our designs with a view to a test for standardisation.

Until it is possible to provide a two-tone switch in the column these horns will be used with the single switch in the column and a changeover switch on the scuttle rail.

We have made and issued designs for :-

1) Fitting the two-tone switch into the existing Bentley steering column controls, Lec 4890.

2) Fitting the complete Phantom III wheel and controls to the 25/30 H.P. Lec 4896.

therefore, as soon as production permits, the two-tone switch on the column will be available for introduction provided the necessary tests have been completed.

We have heard that breakage of the spider bracket for the horn on the 25 H.P. has been experienced, and we would like to know in what way the design has proved to be deficient.

Since writing this memo. we have seen Messrs.Lucas' representative and have made suggestions for overcoming the fatigue fracture of the 25 H.P. chassis horn spider bracket.
