4993 To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BYLO/K.{Mr Kilner} 27.11.25. RE TYRE PUMP. Sales Dept. are complaining that the present type tyre pump we are supplying with the 20-HP & 40/50 HP. chassis is too big, and in some cases the Coachbuilders cannot find room for them in the tool boxes. We assumed that Sales did not intend to discontinue using the present pump in all cases, but only in cases where the Coachbuilders made certain types of bodies, and we therefore suggested that we should supply a number of the old type Dunlop pumps to meet these cases. Sales Dept. however, do not agree to us supplying any of the old type Dunlop pumps, and as you will note from the attached copy of memo, that they suggest that we obtain a Woodmilne pump for testing. We have informed Sales however, that we consider a retrograde step will be taken if we go back to a less efficient pump, than the one we are at present supplying, and it is obvious that we cannot get a smaller pump to do the same work in the same time, as the large pump of Dunlop's. We have received a sample pump from Turners, and we are sending it to you for your remarks, and immediately we receive the Woodmilne pump, we will forward that as well. BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} | ||
