| -5- Ha/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}6/WJ.29.7.35. Cont'd.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} deal with this trouble. (11) Damage to Rear Shock Absorbers by Stones Etc. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} reports that various parts of the back of the car have been badly damaged by stones. Steps will have to be taken to rectify this. (12) Gearbox. GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} criticises the design of the gearbox. He does not think it would be easy to manufacture to give a consistently satisfactory change. We are going into this question with him. We still have not had a SpectreCodename for Phantom III gearbox up to the Phantom standard of silence. Experiments are continuing. (13) Wheel Failures. A number of spokes have failed. This trouble is being dealt with. (14) Front Tyre Wear. This is being investigated. (15) Throwing Rear Passengers over Hump-Backed Bridges. The first cars sold will not have the auto-lock dampers. In this particular feature the first SpectreCodename for Phantom IIIs will be inferior to the Phantom. ---------- We consider that the second list of items is quite reasonable in view of the fact that we have so far only run 15,000 miles in France on the first of a completely new breed of chassis.
