X 465 To RHC. {R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} from EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 1/T14.10.25. X.4105 - CUTOUT CONTACT POINT EXPERIMENTS. Though we have nine experimental chassis fitted with cutout contact point experiments, only three of these, e.g. 9-GIII, 44-FK and 98-NK are concerned with the present instruction. These are at present fitted as follows :- 9-GIII. X.4105B. Spring with .150" neck and rigid fixed contact point support. 44-FK. X.4105B. Spring with .137" neck and rigid fixed contact point support. 98-NK. X.4105B. Spring with .125" neck and rigid fixed contact point support. We now wish to make certain modifications. We wish to wash out the spring with the .125" neck from the distribution box on 98-NK and replace this with a spring with .150" neck (like that on 9-GIII). In addition to this one (only) change of neck, we wish to add to all the three springs (two .150" and one .137") the C type of rigid backing which we have on the cutout on OF.68. Owing to the actual distribution boxes at present on the three chassis being somewhat out of adjustment after test, it will probably be better to use two distribution boxes which you have at present in the shop, and having made these up to requirements, to exchange them with those on the chassis, after which the third one Contd. | ||
