Enclosure.

For Aircraft engines the reduced piston weight has very considerable advantages, and we shall be pleased to quote for sample blanks, or finished pistons on receipt of your Blue Print.

We shall, if possible, give you our ideas as to any modification in design necessary to ensure a successful piston.

Whilst thousands of Electron pistons are used in the Automobile Industry we cannot recommend you to adopt them.

In saying this we have in mind three factors:

(1) Thermal Properties.

(2) Expansion.

(3) Length of Life.

In the present stage of Magnesium piston development one of these three factors will prevent Magnesium pistons being up to your standard.

The undersigned has discussed this with Mr. Bailey and we hope, in the near future, to be in a position to put before you proposals which we believe will be worthy of your investigation.
