X. 4333. EFC. {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} c. SET/M Brock. BY15-P17.1.34. X.4333 GOSHAWK COMMUTATOR & BRUSH SYSTEM. Referring to EFC {E. Fowler Clarke - Electrical Engineer} 8/T9124, there is no justification for the idea put forward in your memo quoted. Copper for Commutator bars has always been ordered up from the information given on the drawings or the Part List, and reference to the Part List and drawings produced by Mr Ormerod shews that we simply called for precisely what we do today, in fact, our present day Part List and drawings have in this respect been copied from the drawings produced under Mr Ormerod. In regard to the question of annealing, I would like to remark that with the hard drawn copper we do not anneal, as the hard drawn copper should, in my opinion, wear better than a Commutator produced with the same material that has been annealed.
