X4057. PEREGRINE OIL TEMPERATURE. On the run down from Derby to London with the first Peregrine going to France, the oil temperature inlet to the bearings was recorded. During the few bursts of speed which were permissible the oil temperature rose to 100°C. The air temperature being no more than 13°C. This confirms the results mentioned in our Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}3/MJ.28.7.32. where the heat given to the oil on the test bed appeared to be more than with our other engines.
