To HPS.{Horace Percy Smith - Experimental Factory Mgr} from Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale} γ 406. Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}2/MH.{M. Huckerby}12.10.38. BENTLEY III FRONT BRAKES - 4 SHOE. With reference to By/Ald.{F. Allwood - Experimental Design}20/G.5.10.38. We want these brakes when made fitting to a Bentley III - they can go on 10.B.V. when it is first built, thus economizing in fitting. The object of building these brakes is to have a better brake in reserve for the straight 8 cars, which will go in our standard brake drums and which is operated by the same mechanism. The shoes are constructed from our standard shoe section. We have already had overheating troubles on the brakes of 8.B.V., with the 6-cylinder engine.
