X4079 PN{Mr Northey}1/DP/7.9.23. To:- EFC. c. to EJ. X.4079 - TEMPERATURE TESTS OF COILS IN CASES OF VARIOUS MATERIALS. In reply to your memo EFC3/T6.9.23, surely unless your sparking gaps are arranged so that the spark takes place under a compression more or less equivalent to that in the cylinders of our engines e.m.f. is not likely to rise in the secondary windings to an extent represented by actual service, which means, of course, that the case material would not be stressed as a di-electric so heavily. Is it the case that the primary windings only have broken down in certain cases and not the secondary windings? PN.{Mr Northey} | ||
