X.8672 - 28 SLOT ARMATURE.

As the result of an enquiry on our part as to whether the 28 slot armature is still urgently required for the Phantom dynamo, the position appears to be as follows :-

The late standard machine is not now being made; all machines produced being of the modified type. Since comparatively few of the modified type of machine have to be returned as noisy, and these can usually be quietened by changing bearings, end brackets, etc., the 28 slot armature ceases to be urgently required as a possible means of quietening machines, and of saving the expense of having standard machines modified.

In view of this, and the fact that the N.B. machine is now standard, and some of which are actually being made, it seems that all further work with the 28 slot armature should be carried out on the N.B. type of machine.
