-2- Chassis 63-EF. Hd{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy}/SB{Mr Bull/Mr Bannister}8/M30.12.31. With regard to the last paragraph of your Memo. we shall no doubt have to be quite frank with Mr. Lawton and tell him that this is a weakness which we ourselves have been able to produce under extreme conditions of heat, and that the sliding joint manifold is the result of considerable experimental work on the subject. We doubt Mr. Lawton will be only too pleased for such a pipe to be fitted, and we should be able to judge whether it is a cure for the trouble in a much shorter time than would be possible on cars running in this country. As a matter of fact the Experimental Department have already supplied Hm.{Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} with a few of these pipes for similar customers who habitually drive fast and have been in trouble with broken manifolds. Hd.{Mr Hayward/Mr Huddy} | ||
