C O P Y. To Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} MINUTES OF CHASSIS CONFERENCE HELD ON TUESDAY FEB.20TH. Present: Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} ROVER CAR. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} commented favourably upon his Rover car and it was inspected by everyone present. It was agreed that the body dimensions would maek a desirable standard for the "Myth". The accommodation for the spare wheel was considered and the luggage carrying capacity. The luggage carrying capacity was considered to be adequate and the method of carrying the spare sheel the best compromise. The fitting of the bonnet side plates was inspected and approved of. Also the type and quality of instruments supplied. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} pointed out that the "Myth" design work was at a standstill until the cheaper cars in the senior rationalised range had become realities. BODY COSTS. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}14/MH.{M. Huckerby}12.2.40 was discussed. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} queried the overheads quoted for the B.V body. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} said that the point had been raised with Ward and a calculation showed that if Park Ward could get three custom built bodies per week to supplement the B.V bodies catered for in the programme, the overheads would appear to be reasonable. Sg.{Arthur F. Sidgreaves - MD} expressed a desire to see the B.V. body finished with a Rover standard of leather, headcloth, fittings, etc., and with steel wings. It was agreed that Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} would impress upon Mr. Ward that the car which was allotted to Lappin out of the first 6, should be finished in this manner. Anticipated cost reductions from this alteration in materials, based on figures supplied by Mr. Green were as follows:- | ||
